National conference in Wroclaw (2015)

On 07-09 October 2015 in Wroclaw (PL) there is held subsequent (9th) conference organized by  the International Co-operation Bureau of National Police Headquarters under project „New challenges for SIS users related to SIS II implementation” co-financed from Norway Grants (2009-2014). At the same time, it is 3rd conference held in city of Wroclaw (08-10 October 2014 – national conference and 06-08 May 2015 – international conference).

The conference was opened by insp. Rafał Łysakowski, Director of the International Co-operation Bureau of National Police Headquarters.

50 persons take part in the conference – experts in the field of Schengen Information System, foreigners and migration politics, i.e. representatives of:

  • Ministry of Internal Affairs,
  • Office for Foreigners,
  • Border Guards,
  • Provincial Offices
  • Local Police units
  • Central Police Bureau of Investigation
  • Bureaux of National Police Headquarters (Criminal Service Bureau, International Co-operation Bureau).

Taking into account international and national situation prone to increase of number of refugees at the territory of Schengen states, issues related to alerts implemented pursuant to art. 24 of SIS II Regulation are the core subject of the conference, i.e. alerts on third country nationals in respect of whom an alert has been issued for the purposes of refusing entry or stay in Schengen area and procedures connected with consultations pursuant to art 25 of Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement (CISA).

Furthermore, during the conference possibilities of new SIS II functionalities with aim to prevent threats related to terrorism will be presented in context of particular issues concerning invalidated documents.

Next conference under project „New challenges for SIS users related to SIS II implementation” co-financed from Norway Grants (2009-2014) will be held in Kielce on 25-27 November 2015.
